In 1968, Bill Robertson started as a one-man electrical business, operating out of the basement of his home on Greenleaf Lane in Charlottesville. In 1970, Robertson added heating and air conditioning to his products and services and in 1985, a plumbing division was formed. Bruce Locker joined Robertson Electric in March 1977 and became President of Robertson Electric in 1994.
Today, Robertson Electric is one of the largest full-service companies in the area, employing about 50 people out of their office at 2131 Berkmar Drive. In some cases, Robertson Electric has been serving the same customers for over 42 years.
